Formed from two colleges; Bedford College (in London) opened in 1849 and Royal Holloway College's Founder's Building that opened in 1886, the two together became part of the University of London in 1900 and finally, in 1985 the merged to become known as Royal Holloway. Today Royal Holloway has a great reputation across science, the arts, management and social sciences. It strives to advance and share knowledge and to inspire others to do the same.
