Unichoices.co.uk (hereafter Unichoices) is a free to use website that is part of a range of websites and publications (subsidiaries) owned and managed by Media Pop Ltd. Media Pop Ltd. (registered company number: 08826794) has a registered company address at: 1 St Saviours Wharf, 23-25 Mill Street, London SE1 2BE. We can be contacted by email or by mail to the address set out above.
These website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy may be amended by us from time to time (“terms”) govern your use of our website, https://unichoices.co.uk and any and all services including online community message boards (“Community Areas.”) By using our website, you are agreeing to these terms, whether you are just browsing (a “Visitor”) or whether you are a registered user (a “Member”). Please stop using our website if you do not agree to these terms.
Unichoices may change these terms at any time by posting changes online. Please review these terms regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made by Unichoices. Your continued use of Unichoices.co.uk after changes are posted means you agree to be legally bound by these terms as updated and/or amended.
You agree to use Unichoices.co.uk only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of Unichoices.co.uk. Prohibited behavior includes harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within Unichoices.co.uk.
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
1. Registration/Password
1.1. Although portions of our website may be visited by any Visitor, you will need to register as a Member to access some restricted pages as deemed by Unichoices and be able to participate in or join the Community Areas. Registration on our website is free. Details of how we will use your data are laid out in our Privacy Policy.
1.2. To register as a Member, you must either:
1.2.1. Confirm that you are over 16 years of age; or
1.2.2. If you are less than 16 years of age, please see Section 2, below.
1.3. You agree that any information you provide to us about yourself upon registration or at any other time will be true, accurate, up to date and complete. We reserve the right to terminate your membership and access to our website if we learn that you have provided false or misleading information.
1.4. When you register to use our website, you will be asked to create an account and provide a password. You agree not to divulge your password to any other person. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, and will be fully responsible for all liabilities arising in connection with your password’s use (or misuse), whether such use or misuse is with or without your knowledge or approval. If you suspect that someone else knows of or is using your password, you must notify us immediately by emailing us.
1.5. If you forget your password, please follow the links on the website to reset your password using the email account you used to register as a member.
1.6. We have the absolute discretion to cancel your username/password at any time if we suspect it is being used by an unauthorised person.
2. Under 16 years of age
2.1. If you are under 16 years of age and want to become a Member, you must obtain a parent or guardian’s permission before registering on our website. You may also discuss these terms with them before obtaining their permission.
2.2. If you are a Member under 16 years old, you will need to obtain a parent or guardian’s permission before taking part in any online discussions. You should never reveal personal information about yourself, such as your address, telephone number and school.
Your use of our website
3.1. For the purposes of these terms, “Content” refers to all data, text, logos, artwork, software, documents, images, photographs and other materials you may upload to or download from our website.
3.1.1. for commercial purposes or to obtain financial gain without our prior written consent;
3.1.2. to send chain letters, junk mail, ‘spam’, business or bulk communications of any kind;
3.1.3. to advertise a company, product or service of any educational establishment except under the terms of a written advertiser agreement that we have entered into with you;
3.1.4. in a way, that might reasonably be expected to cause another person’s computer systems and/or their communications network to be interrupted, damaged or rendered less efficient;
3.1.5. to obtain personal information from “Users” (which means “Members” and “Visitors”) under the age of 16 or from anyone if such information is gathered deceptively or in a non-transparent way;
3.1.6. to obtain passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other Users;
3.1.7. to attempt to impersonate another User; or
3.1.8. to harass, threaten or intimidate any User.
3.2. You will be for responsible for logging out from your registered account at the end of each session on our website.
3.3. If you are a Visitor, you agree not to obtain unauthorised access to areas of our website reserved for Members.
3.4. If you are aware of anything on our website which appears to infringe these terms, you agree to contact us immediately.
Intellectual Property Rights
4.1. You agree that our website, its subsidiaries and all Content contained in it are protected by Intellectual Property Rights that either belong to or are licensed to us. All content on Unichoices or subsidiary sites remains the express copy-righted property of Media Pop Ltd.. You acquire no proprietary interest in our website or Content provided by us or others and may not use them in any way except as expressly permitted by these terms.
4.2. You may view, print, download or temporarily store such Content for your personal, non-commercial reference without alteration, addition or deletion. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, retransmit, distribute, publish, commercially exploit or otherwise transfer such Content. You acknowledge that you will not acquire any Intellectual Property Rights by downloading or otherwise using any such Content.
4.3. Any other use of Unichoices content requires the prior written permission from Media Pop Ltd..
Contributions to Unichoices and its subsidiaries
5.1. Where you are invited to submit any Content or contribution to Unichoices you agree, by submitting your contribution, to grant the Unichoices a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licenseable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to your contribution worldwide and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in your contribution, and in accordance with privacy restrictions set out in Unichoices’s Privacy Policy. If you do not want to grant to Unichoices the rights set out above, please do not submit your contribution to Unichoices.
5.2. By submitting Content to our website:
5.2.1. you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and communicate to the public such Content; and
5.2.2. you authorise us to adapt such Content and you agree to waive your moral rights to object to any derogatory treatment, or to be identified as the author, of the material in question.
5.3. You warrant that your contribution:
5.3.1. Is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to the Unichoices for all the purposes specified above
5.3.2. Is not defamatory.
5.3.3. Does not infringe any law.
5.3.4. Indemnify Unichoices against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by Unichoices as a result of your breach of the above warranty.
5.3.5. Waive any moral rights in your contribution for the purposes of its submission to and publication on Unichoices and the purposes specified above.
Our Rights
6.1. We have the right in our absolute discretion to alter, edit, remove, suspend or refuse any Content without notice, if we consider that the Content is objectionable or violates these terms or for any other reason.
6.2. We may preserve or disclose the Content and your personal details as well as any Content to any third party if such disclosure is necessary:
6.2.1. for the purpose of maintaining our website;
6.2.2. by law; or
6.2.3. to respond to claims that our website infringes or restricts the right of any party.
6.3. We may suspend or terminate your access to our website at any time if you breach any of these terms.
Unichoices Community Area Rules
7.1. You agree to use Unichoices Communities (including Message Boards) in accordance with the following Community Rules. These apply across all Unichoices and its subsidiaries community sites and services.
7.2. You agree to only submit materials which are your own original work. You must not violate, plagiarise, or infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.
7.3. The views expressed in Unichoices Community areas are those of members of the public and are not necessarily those of the Unichoices.
7.4. About your posts:
7.4.1. Contributions must be civil and tasteful
7.4.2. No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour: contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
7.4.3. No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
7.4.4. You may not submit any defamatory or illegal material of any nature in Unichoices Communities. This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio.
7.4.5. Contributing material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited.
7.4.6. If you use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or annoying other users you may have action taken against your accounts.
7.4.7. No spamming or off-topic material: we don’t allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don’t re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas.
7.4.8. No advertising
7.4.9. No impersonation
7.4.10. You may not refer to specific URLs (web site addresses) unless allowed under the relevant local house rules. If you know of a worthy web site relevant to the discussion topic, please inform the host of the Community area.
If you breach these terms of use
8.1. If you fail to abide by these Community Rules (and/or any variations in the relevant local house rules) when taking part in a Unichoices Community service, you will be sent an e-mail which informs you why your contribution has been failed or edited. This mail will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your account or accounts.
8.2. This action may include your relevant account or accounts being placed into pre-moderation or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in any or all of Unichoices Community areas.
8.3. If you post or send offensive or inappropriate content anywhere on or to Unichoices Communities or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on Unichoices, and Unichoices considers such behaviour to be serious and/or repeated, the Unichoices may use whatever information that is available to it about you to stop any further such infringements.
8.4. This may include informing relevant third parties such as your employer, school or email provider about the infringement/s. Unichoices reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason.
Content posted
9.1. We aim wherever possible to remove any inappropriate content posted on our site. None of the views expressed in the Content are the views of Unichoices – we are just providing a platform. You acknowledge that all Content is the responsibility of the person who posted, emailed or otherwise provided the Content to our website. You acknowledge that by using the Service, you may be exposed to Content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable. We are not responsible in any way for any Content – and if you post, email, upload or otherwise provide Content, you are entirely responsible for it.
9.2. However, we operate a “take down and notice” procedure. If you believe that any Content is defamatory, profane, sexually or racially offensive or discriminating, harassing, threatening, obscene, pornographic, false, unreliable or misleading or otherwise objectionable, or infringes intellectual property or other legal rights please notify us immediately by email. We will investigate each matter notified to us and will act in our sole discretion.
9.3. If you post Content which is found to be in breach of these terms, we reserve the right to deactivate your username and password to prevent you from further access to our website as a Member.
Warranties
Our website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We expressly disclaim all warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You understand and agree that we do not guarantee the accuracy, relevancy or completeness of any information in or provided on or from our website. We are not responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such information. Our website is provided for the general information of the general public.
Your use and participation in our website and services are solely at your own risk. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from our website shall create any warranty not expressly made in these terms or imposed by law.
We make no warranty that our website will meet your requirements, or that access to our website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free; nor do we make any warranty as to the results that may be obtained from the use of our website.
Limitation of Liability
EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) AND FOR ANY REASON.
EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSSES OR DAMAGES OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, REVENUE IN EACH CASE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISE IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF EVENTS OR WHETHER WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND WHETHER SUCH LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISE IN CONTACT OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) AND FOR ANY REASON.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS SHALL OPERATE TO EXCLUDE OR RESTRICT OUR LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE.
Territory Statement
Please do not access or use the Content from a jurisdiction where such access or use would be contrary to applicable laws, rules or regulations of any governmental authority or regulatory organisation. If you breach this provision, you will be held entirely responsible.
Assignment
We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms and upon such assignment we shall be relieved of any further obligation under these terms. You are not permitted to assign your rights and obligations under these terms.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any dispute shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Please be aware that you may need to book in advance to attend an open day or specific event and that some open days have a maximum number of places. Please check the University website or event organiser website and contact them directly by email to confirm availability or to make a booking.
